Courts Tighten Civil Process Requirements To Preserve Justice And Protect The Public

Florham Park, NJ - The state of Texas recently joined other states that are raising the bar on qualifications of process servers to preserve the integrity of the judicial system and protect citizens being served.

Until recently, there was no regulation of civil process servers in the state of Texas, but a recent amendment to the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure by the Texas Supreme Court has changed that.

The new rules require aspiring process servers to obtain certification from an authorized training facility and undergo a background check in order to serve process throughout the state. Before that, almost anyone could be a process server.

Attorneys in states who are mandating higher qualifications for process servers may, in the short term, be in a bind trying to identify and schedule certified professional process servers.

Across the U.S. successful legal firms in the know have learned to rely upon DepoNet’s nationwide network of trained, skilled process servers who can meet the newly-enacted standards.

“Our process serving members are engaged every day by the legal community across the country,” says Geri DeAngelis, General Manager of DepoNet, Florham Park, N.J. “We strive to provide services of the highest quality and invest time, and seek out the highest skilled professional process servers so we can meet the high standards courts and the legal community have a right to expect.”
